During the year of the COVID-19 pandemic, I walked around Jamaica Pond in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood almost every day as a means of exercise while gyms were closed. The thing that most caught my eye was a tree branch that was slowly but steadily sinking under its weight towards the water. I began to take photos at different points of the day.
